Fayetteville Athletes See Results

Real progress from club athletes, high school teams, and motivated movers who needed a plan that worked.

I am an ultra-runner and I started going to The Mobile Athlete after having problems with my IT band on long runs. Shawn and Chris helped me pinpoint exactly where my weaknesses were that were contributing to the problem. They then helped me heal the pain and came up with a plan to get stronger so that the issue would not be recurring. We are in the process of working through that plan. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a PT that not only wants to help you heal but also wants to stop the problem from coming back. They care about me and my goals and work specifically with athletes. I have gone to a local generic PT and the level of service is nowhere near the same. I cannot thank them enough for all of their knowledge and help.

I have been working with Shawn to improve my mobility and relieve nagging knee pain. He has helped me make considerable improvement in just a few short weeks.

Two years ago I injured my right shoulder skiing. It did not require surgery, but lacked mobility and stability. I also have had a stiff lower back and lack of mobility in the hips. These were most noticeable after golf and when trying to do pull ups at cross fit. After a shoulder injury clinic, I signed up for a series of physical therapy sessions with Dr Jacob Kincaid at The Mobile Athlete. After a month, my shoulder is more mobile and strong and my hips and back are more mobile. I no longer have discomfort after walking 18 holes of golf. I am also able to use the right shoulder and rotator cuff during cross fit workouts. The therapy sessions and daily resistant exercises have done wonders for my health and overall fitness. At age 76 I am confidant that CrossFit, golf, skiing, kayaking, and hiking will continue to be an important part of my life. I unequivocally recommend Dr Jacob and The Mobile Athlete. Fred Bryant

Frequently Asked Questions

What you need to know before booking your first session.

Do I need a referral to start?

No. Georgia law allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can schedule your evaluation without seeing a doctor first. If your insurance plan requires a referral for reimbursement, we'll help you handle that after your first visit.

How long will it take to see results?

It depends on your situation and goals. After your evaluation, we'll give you a realistic picture of what to expect. Many people notice improvements in confidence and movement quality within the first few weeks.

Can I keep training while I'm working with you?

Yes, in most cases. We build your plan around what you can do safely and adjust based on how you're responding. The goal is to keep you progressing, not shut everything down.

Why travel to Peachtree City instead of using a local clinic?

You get one-on-one care with objective testing, a coaching mindset, and a plan built around your sport—not generic protocols. We also offer remote programming if driving doesn't fit your schedule every week.

What happens in the first session?

Your first session is an evaluation. We'll talk about your history, your goals, and what's keeping you from training. Then we'll test movement, strength, and problem areas so we can build a clear plan together.
